Dr. Anita Carmen Choy is a board certified internal and allergy medicine specialist. She is a compassionate doctor who speaks both English and Cantonese and serves the area of Palo Alto California.

Dr. Choy and her staff treat many immunological disorders that include allergic conjunctivitis, headaches, itching and skin rashes, bronchitis, both allergy and exercise induced asthma, anaphylaxis, allergic rhinitis and many other symptoms.
Dr. Choy will be happy to do extensive testing that may include allergy skin tests that are designed to determine the exact allergens that you may be sensitive to. Other tests that may be performed are patch tests, pulmonary lung function studies, tympanograms, hearing tests, and nasal smears. These types of tests will help Dr. Choy to determine exact causes of a wide variety of symptoms.
Depending on the nature of the affliction, Dr. Choy may prescribe different courses of treatment depending on the severity and the causes. For patients that suffer from allergies such as food or pet allergies, regular allergy injections called immunotherapy may be called for. These injections are given at specified times over a period of time to achieve a desired level of effectiveness. Generally these injections are given once or twice a week initially and then are given less frequently as time progresses.  
Many patients that are suffering from asthma, whether it is exercise induced asthma or allergy related will see relief from a fast acting oral inhaler like Alupent or may benefit from regular doses from a steroid inhaler like Advair. These treatments open up the airways and allow a patient to breath normally again.
