The American Institute of Alternative Medicine was founded in 1994 as an outgrowth of Massage Away, Inc., a therapeutic massage clinic founded in 1990. The American Institute of Alternative Medicine provides education in the areas of massage therapy, Tui Na, acupuncture, and other alternative medical therapies.
In addition to providing educational services to students wishing to become proficient in the alternative medical arts, the American Institute of Alternative Medicine also offers clinical services where their students gain hands-on experience by providing alternative medical care to the community at large. There is a massage clinic and an acupuncture clinic, providing these services to the residents of the Columbus area.
Admission to the American Institute of Alternative Medicine is simple and easy. Just fill in the forms, pay the appropriate fee, and conduct a personal interview and tour of the campus. The staff of the American Institute of Alternative Medicine want to make gaining admission to their facility as painless as possible and will always work with students to get the admission process taken care of.
The American Institute of Alternative Medicine accepts transfer students from other schools or colleges. The school accepts transfer credits from approved massage therapy schools, from ACAOM candidate schools, and from accredited institutions that have programs in acupuncture, Chinese Massage Therapy, or massage therapy.
The school prides itself on giving personal attention to the financial aid needs of all students. They believe that education is an investment and will work with students to help them get the financial aid needed to be able to attend. In addition to providing support for traditional financial aid mechanisms, the American Institute of Alternative Medicine also has an interest-free monthly tuition plan, allowing students to spread their payments out over time.
