Hair by Diane & Associates is a full-service hair salon and beauty spa serving the Lubbock Texas for over three decades. Their very catchy motto declares that the establishment is “Where looking good is understood,” and the most casual perusal of their home on the web certainly attests to their claim. Their new salon, which is the epitome of modern design, combines style and comfort. The building, now a Lubbock landmark, is the result of a four-year collaboration between salon founder and director Diane Gattone, designer Cynthia Leftwich and architect and builder Dwayne McQueen. The result won Salon Today magazine’s Salon of the Year Award in 2002.

 

Hair by Diane & Associates is a Redken VIP salon and features Redken’s products in their services. Recently, it was announced that Ms. Gattone’s salon is the longest continuously operating all-Redken salon in the world today.

 

Services available include hair styling and coloring, manicure, pedicure, facial and waxing for men as well as men. The salon’s staff are highly qualified, certified cosmetology professionals who continue to further their education by attending classes and seminars and enrolling training programs that allow them to stay on top of the latest techniques in hair care and styling. Services include a number of different hair cuts and styles. Clients can choose from sets, a classic “up-do,” waves, perms and custom spirals at prices starting at just $20.

 

In addition, Hair by Diane and Associates features Ultratress™ Hair Extensions. The hair professionals of Hair by Diane have three different methods of hair extension at their disposal depending on the needs of the client. These extensions are made from 100% human hair, come in as many as 27 different colors, and can be applied two hours or less. Ultratress™ Hair Extensions last up to five months before reapplication is necessary, and will not harm one’s natural hair. Clients can choose UltraLinks™, requiring no glue nor heat. These are attached using a loop and crimp method and are easy to remove. UltraStrands™ use a bonding material that turns to powder once the removal medium is applied, making it very simple and painless to make changes.

 

Finally, for those with visibly thinning hair, UltraTress™ extensions can be applied virtually anywhere on the scalp, resulting in a beautiful, full mane in no time.

Hair by Diane and Associates also offers a wide range of skin care and massage therapy services at the salon’s Spa Wing. Facial services include European, Mini-Facial, Alpha Roll on face and neck, and waxing. These start at as little as $6. Swedish massage is available for $30 and up depending on length, and body polish services start out at as little as $10. There are also many nail services offered. These include hot oil, French manicure and polish change, starting at $10.

 

Founder and salon director Diane Gattone is recognized nationwide as a leader in the field of hair care science and cosmetology. Since her arrival in Lubbock in the early 1970s, Ms. Gattone has opened and operated four successful salons. The new facility is the culmination of her over three decades of experience in the industry.
