Dr. Kelly R. Kunkel MD PA operates his own practice serving patients in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. He is committed to delivering the best possible results for patients with the most challenging pastic surgers and/or reconstructive issues. According to Dr. Kunkel, when he was a third-year medical student, "plastic surgery residents and staff physician were working on a 10-year-old boy who had lost an ear as a result of a severe burn. The plastic surgeons did an operation where they took a part of his rib, carved it into shape of an ear, and implanted it in his scalp where the ear used to be. I thought, 'Great! I want to be able to help people like this.'"

Today, Dr. Kunkel offers a full range of cosmetic and reconstructive surgical and non-surgical treatments, including facial surgery, skin resurfacing, breast enhancement, and body contouring. Surgical offerings range from the minor, such as tummy tucks and eyelid and ear surgery, to major procedures such as breast reconstruction and skin cancer treatment. 

Dr. Kunkel also offers reconstructive plastic surgery for burn and accident victims and congenital deformities. Dr. Kunkel is a native Texan, born and raised in Fort Worth. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame, he earned his medical degree at the University of Texas, then went on to study facial reconstruction in Basel, Switzerland. Following this, he studied burn surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle and completed his studies in plastic surgery at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland.

For the past several years, Dr. Kunkel has been recognized as being among the DFW area's top plastic surgeons by Fort Worth Texas Magazine. He maintains membership in several professional organizations that include the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Kunkel maintains affiliations with several area hospitals, including Baylor All-Saints, Harris Methodist Southwest, Plaza Medica and Medical Center Surgical.
