The practice of Tammy Weyandt DDS offers the latest prosthodontic treatments using cutting-edge dental technology and state-of-the-art equipment. Dr. Weyandt is a graduate of Baylor University, where she majored in biology with a minor in chemistry before going on to complete her dental degree at the Texas A&M University Baylor School of Dentistry. Since finishing her residency at Dallas Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in 1998, where she had the opportunity to work with disabled servicemen and women, she completes over 50 hours of continuing education courses and specialized training every year.
Dr. Weyandt’s desire to serve the interests and dental needs of her community is reflected in the time she spends donating her dental skills to those who would otherwise be unable to afford proper dental care, working through the Give Kids a Smile program sponsored my the American Dental Association and the Texas Mission of Mercy. In addition to her work with state and local charities, she participates in an annual mission through her church to provide dental care for people in rural Central America.
Dr. Weyandt’s practice is a full-service dental clinic, offering regular checkups, professional cleaning, fluoride treatments, and periodontal examinations to determine the risk of presence of gum diseases such as gingivitis or periodontitis. Although patients with serious gum issues are referred to a periodontist, those in the early stages can be treated at Dr. Weyandt’s clinic with scaling and root planning to remove plaque and antibiotics to eliminate the bacteria associated with gingivitis.
Her office is also able to custom-fit patients with night guards for those who risk tooth damage from bruxism (tooth grinding) and mouth guards for those active in contact sports.
In addition, Dr. Weyandt is trained in the specialty of prosthodontics, or cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Cosmetic restoration of one’s teeth is more than a matter of vanity; dental appearance is also an indicator of dental health. Dr. Weyandt and her associates offer composite fillings, dental implants, crowns, veneers and bonding as well as bridges and teeth-whitening services. Dr. Weyandt is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry.
