Foot Ankle Specialists is a practice managed and operated by a group six physicians specializing in podiatry with offices in three locations in and around the Clearwater Florida area. These specialists focus on patients suffering from a range of foot problems that include heel pain (spurs), diabetic issues, foot injuries (including sports-related ones) and orthotic devices. They are dedicated to providing the latest surgical and therapeutic techniques for their patients in a compassionate and family-friendly environment. There mission: "to get you back on your feet."
In addition to diabetic foot care and circulation testing, the foot care professionals at Foot Ankle Specialists are committed to preventive care, particularly early on. In addition to enabling a child to remain active, proper podiatric care early in life can spare a child from suffering back and leg pain and other problems later in life. Pediatric foot care is a main focus at Foot Ankle Specialists.
The doctors at Foot Ankle Specialists employ the latest in cutting-edge technology for diagnosing and treating conditions of the ankle and foot. One of these is arthroscopic surgery, a much less invasive method for addressing joint problems. Instead of major incisions, a minimal opening is cut, allowing the insertion of miniature cameras and surgical tools – reducing the risk of infection and greatly reducing the time needed to heal.
The practice was founded by Dr. Bruce J Levine, who earned his medical degree at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. He is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons as well as Chairman of the Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Department at Morton Plant Hospital.
Dr. Levine is joined byfive colleagues, each of which bring their own specialty and talents to Foot Ankle Specialists: Dr. Joan Brown, also a graduate of the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and a specialist in geriatric foot care and wound management; Dr. Ted Couluris a graduate of the California College of Podiatric Medicine and a highly skilled foot surgeon; Dr. Alexander Stirling, a graduate of Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and member of the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners; and Dr. Jason Levy, the newest member of the team, who is a specialist in foot and ankle trauma and sports medicine.
