Gwinnett Center Medical Associates is the premier internal medicine practice in the Lawrenceville, Georgia area. Under the direction of chief clinician Dr. Christopher Crooker, Gwinnet Center Medical Associates has provided the utmost level of medical care to patients since 2002.

 

Dr. Crooker received a medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1993, then completed an Internal Medicine residency at the Emory University Hospital in 1996. During his residency he worked at the Atlanta VA Medical Center and at the Lawrenceville Medical Clinic. 

He is board certified in Internal Medicine, and is motivated strongly by his desire to see each individual patient receive the highest possible quality of care.

 

The practitioners of internal medicine are called internists. Internists focus on the medical care of adults; they do not perform obstetric work or care for children, and do not perform surgery. Instead, internists focus on caring for patients from their teen years through old age, and specialize their training on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of adult diseases. Internists often care for patients throughout the patient’s life. When other specialties are needed, such as gynecological care or surgical intervention, internists can manage the communication and coordination of these services.

 

In addition to Dr. Crooker, Gwinnet Center Medical Associates has three supporting practitioners who assist Dr. Crooker by helping patients. Richard Petit is a physician’s assistant, Susan Yandel is a certified nurse practitioner, and Ric Yarnall is a certified nurse practitioner.
