Ophthalmology Associates provides professional, caring ophthalmology services to the Savannah, Georgia area. They have provided services since 1952, making them the oldest medical practice in Savannah. Their mission is providing comprehensive eye care to all patients. Ophthalmology Associates uses the most modern and advanced equipment, technologies, and techniques, from lasers and surgical microscopes to microsurgical instruments and diagnostic computers. Three ophthalmologists work at Ophthalmology Associates. Dr. Clyde Olson received his medical degree at Johns Hopkins University, and did his internship and residency at the Wilmer Eye Institute. He is the former chief of service in ophthalmology at the Key West Naval Hospital. He belongs to many professional associations including the Georgia Medical Society, and joined the practice in 1969. Dr. Judith Piros received a medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, and performed her internship and residency at New York Medical College. She is a renowned researcher and is on staff at several Savannah-area hospitals. Dr. Joseph Reeves III attended the Medical College of Georgia and did an internship at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, and a residency in ophthalmology at Bayer College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Reeves specializes in cataract surgery and surgical diseases of the eye.
In addition to medical services, Ophthalmology Associates has a fully-equipped optical shop, able to fit designer frames and prescription sunglasses – a true one-stop shop for all eye care needs. They fit contacts, do special fittings for stigmatic correction, offer children’s specialty eyewear, and produce special super-thin lenses. The optical shop is focused on providing terrific service with an emphasis on the individual needs of every patient.
