Westcliff Optometry offers an initial laser vision correction consultation free of large for prospective patients interested in undergoing Lasik or CK Presbyotic surgery by filling out and submitting a simple online form (you’ll need to know the prescription of the glasses you’re currently wearing).

 

During a lasik procedure, the surgeon uses a laser to reshape the surface of the cornea to correct the patient’s vision. He or she cuts a small flap in the cornea with a microscopic instrument known as a microkeratome, then folds the flap backward in order to perform the laser treatment on the cornea. Afterwards, the surgeon will replaces the flap. A lasik procedure can be performed in thirty minutes or less, allowing the patient to return to full-time work in as little as 1 – 2 days following surgery. Patients should be aware however, that vision may continue to change for a few months following the procedure. In addition, those suffering from autoimmune diseases or chronic illnesses that affect the speed of healing may not benefit from lasik. Nonetheless, for those wishing to be rid of their glasses – especially those who play contact sports – lasik is an ideal solution.

 

For those that may not benefit from corrective surgery, Westcliff Optometry offers frames from all the leading manufacturers, including Armani, Lulu Guiness, Calvin Klein, TIMEX, Gucci, Vera Wang and others. In addition, the center can provide clients with all brands and types of contact lenses. Options include single vision, bifocal progressive and progressive. Prices are competitive and patients who purchase a year’s supply are eligible for a 15% discount on disposable lenses; discounts of 30-70% are also available on certain brands and styles of glasses. All lenses are manufactured right there in their facility, and can be ready in as little as one hour in many cases.

 

The Westcliff Optometry center offers comprehensive, computerized eye examinations as well as a “no-puff” glaucoma test. Additional services offered include dry eye and eye infection treatments.

 

Dr. Lou R. Elder, director of Westcliff Optometry, is a Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agent Certified Optometrist who has been practicing in Newport Beach since 1964. He received his doctorate degree from the Los Angeles College of Optometry. The facility is owned by the Elder family, and is staffed only by licensed, American Board certified optometrists. The Westcliff Optometry center is open six days a week.
