The Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home was founded in 1910 by J.C. Cowherd and his wife Louise. After many years of dedicated service to the community, Mr. Cowherd brought Walter Parrott into the business as a partner in 1945. Over the years, the facilities were modernized and a new chapel was added, and in 1990 the funeral equipment was modernized. In 1999 the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home added a new showroom which many families have said is far more comfortable and less intimidating than other funeral showroom facilities.

 

The Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home is currently run by funeral directors Rose Parrott, Walt Parrott, Jr., Deana Parrott, Lyndell R. Petty, and Todd Boyd. Along with full time staff members Ken Pruitt, Dustin McKinney, and Eugene Shelton, they work to ensure that every funeral at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home is dignified, tasteful, and meets the emotional and financial needs of the bereaved.
